E.V. Battery

E.V. Battery

An electric-vehicle battery (EVB) or traction battery is a battery used to power the propulsion of battery electric vehicles. Vehicle batteries are usually a secondary (rechargeable) battery. A rechargeable battery, storage battery, secondary cell, or accumulator is a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times. The term "accumulator" is used as it accumulates and stores energy through a reversible electrochemical reaction. Batteries for electric vehicles are characterized by their relatively high power-to-weight ratio, specific energy and energy density:  smaller, lighter batteries reduce the weight of the vehicle and improve its performance. The most common battery type in modern electric cars is lithium-ion and Lithium polymer battery, because of their high energy density compared to their weight.
